Reading a book is the key. It’s imperative to browse current and future titles in the genre of fiction you are focused on; it shows how you can reach the audience you have selected for your budding title. Whether it’s Middle Grade, Young Adult, or even New Adult you’ll see published examples of what works (hopefully) and what doesn’t.
On the business side of things, it helps you see what’s trending in the current writing markets and it clarifies what individual publishing houses are looking to publish. Familiarizing yourself with the market, and competition will only help you.
Whether you search out the latest fiction titles for business or pleasure, their importance is worth a thousand words. I’m sharing some of my favorite authors and their books. These authors inspire me every day. If you’re like me, sticking to one genre or audience is next to impossible, and my interests touch on a broad range of styles from a YA urban fantasy novel to a horror-stricken adult publication. It is my sincerest hope that if you are here for an escape, this list will allow you to travel to the impossible worlds of fiction.
